The OvPlex™ Ovarian Cancer Diagnostic Test is
now available.
HealthLinx Ltd has
developed a new blood test (OvPlex™) for the early detection of ovarian
cancer. This test is available through ARL Pathology, Melbourne,
Victoria.
Ovarian Cancer kills one
Australian woman every 11 hours. Unlike breast cancer, which has an early
detection test available and with a survival rate of 80%, no reliable
early detection test for ovarian cancer has been available until now.
Consequently, it is generally diagnosed in late stages, resulting in poor
survival rates. 80% of women with ovarian cancer will die within five
years.
